On February 29, 2016 the BC Academic Health Science Network (BC AHSN) was established as an independent provincial organization that fosters collaboration and the diffusion of excellence in care, research and education among health system partners. BC AHSN is also responsible for governance and oversight for the BC SUPPORT Unit, in accordance with the Unit’s business plan.
Currently, BC AHSN is focusing on the following network development priorities:
- Finalizing an operating plan — informed by stakeholder engagement — that describes BC AHSN’s value proposition and the means by which it will deliver on its mandate; and
- Transitioning the activities of the former BC Clinical Research Infrastructure Network (BCCRIN) into the BC AHSN organization under the new name of Clinical Trials BC.
