Our focus is transformative system change in three provincial health priority areas: seniors health, rural and remote care and emergency services.
We incorporate the work of three Operational Units, which integrate knowledge management services and supports, work in collaboration to strengthen our reach and impact, and form the backbone of our Network. These units are the BC SUPPORT Unit, Clinical Trials BC, and Research Ethics BC.
Our network is founded on strong connections and partnerships with diverse organizations and groups. Please see Our Partnerships page for more information.
Creating lasting change in BC
British Columbia’s unique health innovation environment includes a regional health care system with a provincial First Nations Health Authority, strong academic and research institutions, and a provincial medical school with distributed training. Research investment and knowledge creation is active in BC, with a focus on rapidly-evolving technology and pockets of innovation throughout the province. Most importantly, there’s a strong desire for collaboration among health system partners.
BC AHSN’s role is to drive innovation within a Learning Health System that makes the best use of provincial assets, resources and expertise.
